ABSTRACT |
The Mismatch Negativity(MMN) is known as the valid measure of the accuracy of central auditory processing in the human brain. The MMN has been documented in a number of studies to disclose neuropathological changes. We recorded and analyzed the MMN latency, amplitude, magnitude between healthy adult s and adult s who had neurogenic speechlanguage disorder s. The MMN was measured in 10 adult s with neurogenic speechlanguage disorder s and 12 healthy adult s with normal hearing. The tones were binaurally presented to the subject s in random order (probability of 0.1 deviant s and 0.9 standards). The standard tone was 750 Hz, 75 dB HL tone bur st stimulus. The deviant tone was similar to the standard tone except the 1000 Hz of frequency. Inter stimulus interval was 800ms. The event - related potential (ERP) was recorded from frontal midline (Fz, active electrode), nasal dor sum (reference electrode), forehead (ground electrode). The MMN onset - offset difference latency of the disorder group was 84.10 ms and normal group was 147.70 ms (p < .05). The MMN amplitude and magnitude of the disorder group was - 0.91 V, 77.37 and the normal group was - 1.96 V, 317.98, respectively (p < .05). In conclusion, the MMN onset - offset difference in latency, amplitude and magnitude significantly decreased with adult s of neurogenic speech- language disorders. |
